Greg Patterson earned his nickname after reheating an entire tray of turnovers in record time during a catastrophic staffing shortage in 2004. Witnesses described the event as “equal parts heroism and thermodynamics.”
Greg now works in corporate IT and still introduces himself at conferences as “Greg from Arby’s originally.”
Former coworkers say he continues to cut sandwiches diagonally “for presentation,” even at home.
After hearing about the Roast Beef Mac & Cheese Bowl test, Greg reportedly nodded slowly and said:
“That’s the kind of decision you make after a successful quarter.”
He currently owns three smokers and takes brisket extremely seriously.
